The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. And the fear of the Holy One is understanding. Proverbs 9:10
Release Time Education
This program has been called the "best kept secret" in the public school arena: a non-taxpayer supported voluntary program where public school children can be enrolled to learn and study the Bible in an atmosphere where God is reverenced and respected. There are Released Time programs teaching the Bible to public school children all over the United States.
In a day and age where the public school system has tried relentlessly to take God out of our schools the release time education program (RTE) is a glimmer of hope. Schools have our children’s minds 5 days a week for 7 to 8 hours a day while the church is an optional one day a week for 2 hours. Hope Chapel supports and participates in RTE.
If you have a gift of ministering to children RTE is a great program to reach the youth of American. To get involved in Long Beach, CA come and visit us at Hope Chapel Long Beach and talk to Dave or Lynn Pocoroba. YWAM Long Beach
In 2016, a small Youth With A Mission (YWAM) team came to Long Beach to run the first ever Discipleship Training School (DTS) in the city. The idea was to do inner city outreach along side lecture phase to prepare students for outreach phase and beyond. During this first school, students participated in a blend of outreach and classroom time. Our outreaches included homeless ministry, working with single mothers and their children, evangelism, and on-site intercession. This DTS was a first step on pioneering a new YWAM location in Long Beach.
YWAM Long Beach serves in the city daily. They are involved with a local homeless ministry called Beacon For Him where they help not only feed the homeless, but provide resources to help people get off the streets and into a sustainable lifestyle. They also help with local vacation Bible schools and church planting in the area. In addition to this, they run Discipleship Training Schools and have a strong relationship with YWAM Tokyo where they travel and minister to at least once a year. Jonathan and Nina Pocoroba are the base leaders and have a heart to impact their city and the nations.
For More information or to learn more about their next DTS go to YWAMLongBeach.org or call Jonathan Pocoroba at (562) 822-3406
